Maker Faire Guangzhou is hosted by Wayi Robotics.WaYi Robotics is an educational platform for robotics and comprehensive skill development, co-founded by professors and doctoral supervisors from South China University of Technology (SCUT), alongside elite instructors from prestigious institutions like the University of Hong Kong and Sun Yat-sen University with extensive backgrounds in education and competitions. Since its establishment in 2019, WaYi Robotics has consistently upheld its core philosophy: “Igniting passion for technology to shape the future; empowering youth to reach new heights in science.” The organization delivers high-quality robotics education to young learners aged 5–18.”

Maker Faire originated in 2006 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a project of the editors of Make: magazine. It has since grown into a significant worldwide network of both flagship and independently-produced events.
